What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the website remember your preferences and understand how you use the site.

How We Use Cookies

Red Seal Hub uses cookies for the following purposes:

Necessary Cookies

These cookies are essential for the website to function properly. They enable core functionality such as security, account authentication, and remembering your preferences. These cookies cannot be disabled.

  • Authentication cookies - Keep you signed in to your account
  • Security cookies - Help protect against fraud and unauthorized access
  • Preference cookies - Remember your settings like theme preference

Analytics Cookies

We use analytics cookies to understand how visitors interact with our website. This helps us improve our services and user experience.

  • Google Analytics - Which pages people visit and how they move through the site. Uses cookies only if you accept.
  • PostHog - How people use the site, including recordings of visits so we can see where something is confusing or broken. Anything you type is hidden in those recordings. For visitors, used only if you accept. Once you sign in, we record which features you use, tied to your account and not to your name or email, so we can run and improve the product. Your visits are recorded only if you accepted.
  • Vercel Analytics - Page views and performance metrics, without cookies
  • Vercel Speed Insights - Core Web Vitals monitoring, without cookies

Advertising Cookies

Some pages show ads from Google AdSense. With your consent, Google may use cookies to make those ads more relevant. If you decline, Google shows ads without those cookies.

Your Choice

The first time you visit, a banner asks whether you accept Google Analytics, PostHog and advertising cookies. In Quebec, Google Analytics and advertising cookies stay off until you accept. Everywhere else in Canada, they are on unless you decline. PostHog stays off for visitors everywhere until you accept, and recordings of visits always wait for that yes. The site works the same either way.

Third-Party Cookies

Some cookies are placed by third-party services that appear on our pages. We use the following third-party services:

  • Clerk - Authentication and user management
  • Supabase - Database and backend services
  • Vercel - Hosting and analytics
  • Google - Analytics and AdSense advertising
  • PostHog - Product analytics and visit recordings
  • Sentry - Error tracking and monitoring

Managing Your Cookie Preferences

You can change your analytics and advertising choice at any time with the "Change my cookie choice" button above. You can also:

  • Clear cookies through your browser settings
  • Block cookies through your browser settings (note: this may affect site functionality)
  • Use browser extensions that block tracking
