No. You can start on the free plan without a credit card. It includes a limited number of quizzes, study materials and messages with Red. Upgrade anytime for voice minutes, unlimited practice and the rest of the study tools.
Red covers all 56 Red Seal trades, from automotive and electrical to culinary and hairstyling. It adjusts to your trade, your year level (1st to 4th year) and whether you're writing an apprenticeship exam or challenging the Red Seal exam on your hours.
Voice lets you study hands-free, in the shop or on the drive home. Ask your questions out loud in any of 99 languages, and Red answers out loud in 57 languages. Each plan includes voice minutes (Basic: 25 min, Apprentice: 100 min, Challenge: 300 min). If you need more, voice packs start at $4.99 for 50 minutes.
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. When upgrading, you get immediate access to new features. When downgrading, your current features remain until the end of your billing cycle.
First trade is included with every paid plan. Each extra trade gets cheaper the more you add: starts at $19/mo, drops to $15/mo at 2 extras (~20% off), down to $11/mo at 5 extras. Once you're at 6+ extras, the Unlimited Trades add-on at $59/mo becomes the better deal.
Red asks you guiding questions so you work out the answer yourself, which helps it stick. You can also study by voice while your hands are busy, and quizzes keep coming back to your weak areas.
